People Power Truth

Human Rights, Civil Society & the Media in sub-Saharan Africa

An anthology by the Consortium to Promote Human Rights, Civic Freedoms and Media Development (CHARM) Africa

About

Welcome to the People Power Truth website.

This is a project by Fojo Media Institute, part of the project Consortium for Human Rights and Media in Africa (CHARM), funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

We aim to confront and engage issues related to the shrinking space of democracy in sub-Saharan Africa. This involves joint actions between various role players by strengthening coalition building between civil society, media and human rights defenders in the region.

The project is designed and implemented by a consortium of six regional partners: Fojo Media Institute, Wits Journalism, CIVICUS, Civil Rights Defenders, DefendDefenders and Hub Afrique.

This anthology marks one of the first steps in a long journey. A journey on which CIVICUS, Wits Journalism, DefendDefenders and Hub Afrique, Fojo Media Institute and Civil Rights Defenders will continue to walk together towards the realization of a free and vibrant media and civil society in sub-Saharan Africa. Thanks to funding from Sweden, we will continue to strengthen coalition building between civil society, media and human rights defenders. Do you wish to walk with us? Email us here
